Top Songs of This Week

This past week has been huge for hip hop and music in general. With the release of Young Thug and Future's SUPER SLIMEY and Young Dolph's Thinking Out Loud, some of the biggest names in rap have been serving up some serious heat. So, us over at KOTJ have listed our picks for top songs of this week.

5. G'd up (feat. Method Man, R-Mean & Mzee Jones) - Wu-Tang—The Saga Continues

The Saga Continues is the Wu-Tang Clan's most notable recent release. After several years of trying to revive the Clan, Wu-Tang finally found their renovated sound. This song offers an old-school sounding New York beat with a smooth R&B hook. Definitely a song to vibe to and spark up where legal.

4. Money Piling - Gucci Mane—Mr. Davis

After his recent rehabilitation and release from prison in 2016, Gucci has been an unstoppable force in hip hop. Gucci still has his arrogant style and flare but has been a much better overall role model for everyone. Lets face it, the man went from trap star to international mogul in one day after his release from prison. There seems to be no stopping Gucci and this song off of his new album proves it.

3. Married to the Game - Newage Jerkboy

If there is one thing that Florida is producing right now its rappers. Jerkboy is extremely new to the scene but his dedication to "The Game", so to speak, is proven in the music video for his new song. The man is LITERALLY married to the Game. If you haven't heard the song or seen the music video, we suggest that you do right now.

2. No Cap - Future & Young Thug—SUPER SLIMEY

It was only a matter of time that this collaboration album happened between two of the biggest stars in rap. With past collabs such as "Way Longer" and "Relationship", the two have known that there is something about a track when they are both on it. Their most recent release, SUPER SLIMEY, highlights the potential that these two have together. The first song off of the album, "No Cap", is exactly the type of hard hitting song that is needed to hook the listener in and start the album off with a bang. This song is just one of many bangers from the whole album.

1. Pick It Up (feat. A$AP Rocky) - Famous Dex

This song was an easy pick for best song of the week. Dexter's sound is complemented by the swagger of Rocky and the way that the two build off of each other is just as good as any other collab in the game. This combination added with the old-school Nokia vibe and the Dave Chappelle Rick James samples adds a combination of vintage style and cockiness that only A$AP Rocky could provide us with.
